94th Keele Beavers celebrated Chinese New Year recently, capturing the fun with their brand new digital camera! This was made possible by a £100 donation from Staffordshire County Council, a huge thanks to them. Look out for more photos of our many adventures in the Gallery Page! 🙂
As we break for the summer holidays it’s worth looking back at a great first half of 2017. The Beaver Colony and Cub Pack have both grown in size, welcoming new young people and young leaders to the adventure of Scouting at 94th Keele. We’ve been learning new skills, trying new activities and exploring new places in the local area, with our mascot Pal sharing travels from his time in Ireland! Once again thanks to all our amazing Leaders for all their efforts, have a great summer everyone and we’ll see you in September 🙂
Visit our Gallery for more snaps of what we’ve been up to!
Photos from our recent weekend camp to Barnswood are now available to enjoy over on the Gallery. There you can see all the fun and adventure we had exploring the woods, playing games, building dens and fires, running science experiments, hiking, steam train riding and loads more! A massive THANK YOU to all the Beavers and Cubs for throwing yourselves into all the activities come rain or shine and to our Volunteer Leaders, without whom none of this would be possible 🙂
On the 17th-19th April Barnswood campsite was alive with the sound of excited Beavers and Cubs enjoying fun and adventure on our latest group camp!
We enjoyed a Night Walk, Wide Games, Fire Lighting, First Aid, Tracking, Scavenger Hunt, Assault Course, Camping in Tents and lots more. As an added treat our wandering mascot Pal travelled all the way up from Dorset to tell the Beavers & Cubs all about his adventures on the South Coast and beyond!
A massive thank you must go out to all the leaders and helpers who give their time to make events like this happen, you can check out all the fun had over the weekend at our Flickr Gallery 🙂
On Monday Cubs enjoyed cooking (and eating!) Pancakes in preparation for Shrove Tuesday this week. Check out a few pics from the night here or head to our Flickr Gallery to see pics from all our other exciting adventures 🙂
A big welcome back to all our Beavers and Cubs who enjoyed their first meetings of 2015 yesterday. We hope you’re ready for another exciting term of fun and adventure! 🙂
Well another year has come and gone (already!?) and with the holidays fast approaching the Beavers & Cubs spent their last meeting celebrating in style with a Christmas Party! We had party games, fancy dress, yummy food and loads of fun, all under the watchful eye of RoboChil!

It’s been another great year for 94th Keele. We’ve been on exciting adventures, camps and visits, we’ve played loads of games and learned valuable new skills all whilst having tonnes of fun!
We’ve waved goodbye to friends as they’ve moved away and welcomed in new ones including two enthusiastic new Leaders! 🙂
None of what we do would be possible without the dedication of our Adult Volunteers, Scout Helpers and Parent Supporters, who together put in a huge amount of effort both at meetings and behind the scenes to ensure the Group continues to runs smoothly.
A massive THANK YOU to all of you, and to all our wonderful Beavers & Cubs who continue to turn up each week.
From everyone at 94th Keele we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
See you all in 2015! 🙂
Recently our Beavers & Cubs spent one of our meeting nights visiting the Keele Observatory to learn more about their large telescope and the wonders that can be observed through it. Although mother nature sent us a rather wet and cloudy night it didn’t stop the kids looking through the main telescope!

Over the weekend the forests of Barnswood Campsite were filled with the sounds of excited Beavers and Cubs from 94th Keele off on another camp full of fun and adventure! We enjoyed a packed few days which included a roaring joint campfire with another group on site, a night walk, scavenger hunt, orienteering, fire lighting, backwoods cooking, wide games and lots of smaller team games and activities! The Cubs spent both nights in tents braving the elements whilst the Beavers (not wanting to miss out on the action) spent Saturday night in tents inside the hall, something they were all very excited about!
This was a really successful weekend enjoyed by kids and adults alike, a massive thank you to all the Leaders who made it happen including Ray and Shane our two newest helpers, and Alex who managed to travel up from London to join us after graduating from Keele this summer.

This weekend groups from all over the district joined together to host several different events in support of the Douglas Macmillan Hospice and raise awareness of local Scouting. 94th Keele have proudly done our part with Beavers and Cubs involved in activities in Newcastle as well as making cakes to sell to their friends and family.
Overall we’ve manage to raise £65 to add to the main fundraising total!
Well done and thank you to everyone who was involved! 🙂
